After recent tragic events at schools around the nation, many people have been thinking a lot about school safety.
In an effort to make classrooms safer, Governor Mike DeWine of Ohio has unveiled a grant program that will provide $57.8 million to schools throughout the state.
South Point Local School District Superintendent Sam Gue expressed his gratitude for the district’s two schools receiving a total of $200,000 in funding.
Grants of up to $100,000 have been distributed to hundreds of elementary, middle, and high schools in over 50 counties.
DeWine’s K-12 school safety program allots these cash to pay for things like security cameras, automated door locks, and public address systems. The third allocation of funds has been made possible by this initiative.
