As the new school year begins on Hawaii Island, there will be less materials available for some of the children. According to the Salvation Army Kona Corps, a number of contributions worth thousands of dollars had been taken.
Prior to the beginning of the new school year, it is important to provide assistance to students who are struggling financially. The Salvation Army Kona Corps was supposed to be going through donated products this weekend – just as they did in 2021 – but after robbers stormed into the non-profit organization, there is nothing left to sort through. It is estimated that the entire loss was somewhere about $4,500, and the fact that the items were intended for students makes it even worse.
In the meanwhile, contributions in Kona are desperately needed, and they may be made in person or via the website of The Salvation Army.
